Along with the BACP and the UKCP, the BPC is one of the “big three” registering organisations for psychotherapy. These organisations offer “voluntary assured regulation” under the supervision of the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

All APPCIOS members are expected to conform to the BPC code of ethics and their policy on confidentiality, and to fulfil Continuing Professional Development requirements.
We strongly advise all full members who are working independently as APPCIOS clinicians with organisations, groups or individuals to register with the BPC. Please note that, unless you are also a member of the BPC, inclusion in the APPCIOS register will not provide you with the necessary accreditation for employment where statutory registration is required, nor will it protect you from a professional complaint by a member of the public. Our register will carry a disclaimer to this effect. An additional fee is payable for registration with the BPC. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any queries at admin@appcios.info
