A well-established organisation might be one that offers degrees in Therapeutic Care (such as Essex University), training and treatment in child mental health (such as the Anna Freud Centre) or training for its staff in therapeutic care for children and young people (such as The Mulberry Bush).
In such cases APPCIOS provides dual accreditation of an established training. In addition to their primary qualification, this endorsement enables students and trainees to become members of APPCIOS and to pursue a qualification in Psychodynamic Organisational Therapy, In these instances organisations have already been validated by another accreditation body.
Newly formed or non-validated organisations may wish to accredit their training solely with APPCIOS. An example of this would be an individual or group of individuals setting up practice offering counselling training or parent/child intervention training. APPCIOS accreditation on its own allows trainees to join APPCIOS and follow an APPCIOS bespoke, portfolio-based training leading to full accreditation with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC).
Organisations in development may wish to write trainings and programmes in conjunction with APPCIOS in order to strengthen commissioning bids and to offer their trainees and participants meaningful accredited trainings as well as membership of APPCIOS.
Any organisation interested in pursuing accreditation with APPCIOS should contact admin@appcios.info.
